Montessori Inspired Australian Aboriginal and Islander NAIDOC inspired water colour painting

Naidoc watercolour

Use a colour palate with rich earthy colours and put out some cotton buds instead of brushes. I have also seen lots of ideas using sticks to make brushes on Pintrest.

Find some symbols and some examples of Indigenous Australian art. This is the back page of a calendar. I love that this also has photos of the artists.

Another medium to experiment with at this time is clay with natural, found items.

Now the child has an appreciation of some examples of Indigenous Ausralian art maybe they would like to do this NAIDOC inspired boomerang design activity!Lucy
