Froebel pinning

Friedrich Froebel invented kindergarten for young children where play and activity were  fundamental. He developed a systematic deployment of a sequence of ‘gifts’ to nurture creativity. “Froebel was using nature as the model of perfection to educate children. His goals were to teach children how to learn, observe, reason, express and create through play, employing philosophies of unity and interconnectedness.”

You can easily set up a Froebel pinning activity for 3 and 4 year olds. Just make sure the circle is small otherwise the child may give up before the activity is finished.

This pin is a good size for small fingers but you may like to offer a few different ones so the child can test which one feels best for them.

These cut out shapes can be taken home in a small envelope or used for collage!
