Rock towers or cairns

Having spend many years walking the hills and mountains of Scotland we appreciate the humble Wikipedia definition of Cairn.  It is often the sign that you have made it to the top!

There is also something fascinating to me how they stand against time and the elements and the unknown stories of those who built them and those, like me, who feel compelled to add to them.IMG_6353

One a recent Sunday meander around the Brisbane Botanic gardens we were inspired to sit for a while and build some rock sculptures of our own.

I wonder if anyone will notice them? Maybe we have started a trend!
