Leaf appreciation activities

Like feathers, leaves seem to be something that children are constantly inerested in. It’s the begining of Spring now but leaves are still falling daily in the garden and ending up on disply inside.

Pick a selection of items from your garden or that you find on a walk and put them on a tray with some pencils and crayons and see what happens.

You might like to put a smaller, empty tray near by for your child to pick a leaf and add some water colours and …

or …

With a bit more space to be creative the child might initiate rubbings to add to the other media available.

Don’t you love how these kinds of open activities evolve and the children get to use their initiative and creativity?
