The Jacaranda’s turn Brisbane purple and we had a lovely long season this year. I’m always looking for new activities to use this resource that carpets our parks and footpaths. The children are captivated by them and it can lead to so many discussions and is a great stimulus for families to be outside.
You can reproduce the beauty with so many medium but as I was trying not to crush that days fallen flowers under foot I wondered if they would press well?
Yes they do!
What a lovely fine motor activity to carefully stick the pressed flowers to make a bookmark or a card.
What a fun activity! I have lots of fallen frangipani blooms if you want some! I doubt they’d look as lovely though.

No there is an idea! I’ve never tried pressing frangipani. I tend to avoid flowers with thicker petals. I wonder if they would keep their fragrance. I’ll have to give it a go in a week or two. I’ll let you know if it works or they go brown and mushy!!

Usually about 2 weeks but take a peak and see what they are like at 10 days.
