We are preparing for St Patrick’s Day on Saturday 17th March. My Irish friend loves to eat her bread slathered with butter. She butters it, takes a bight then butters the bight and so on. It’s a good thing she plays a lot of hockey!
I decided to write up the recipe with pictures so that young children could follow it.
It was simple to make.
Measure out the dry ingredients into one bowl and the wet into another then combine them. It will be lumpy.
Pat it out onto a baking tray, sprinkle with some extra oats and cut a cross into the top.
We ate ours still warm with butter and honey. It is crispy on the outside and lovely and soft on the inside. I might have to take up hockey myself!
